The FIFA emergency committee have provisionally lifted the suspension imposed on the Football Federation of Belize last month on account of "severe governmental interference".
FIFA said the decision to provisionally lift the suspension until August 15 had been taken following some "positive developments in the case, as reported by the FFB to FIFA".
The measure will allow the return leg of the World Cup qualifier between Belize and Montserrat, originally scheduled for June 19, to take place. It will go ahead on July 17.
However, the FIFA statement warned: "The emergency committee has decided that, should the FFB not be able to definitively settle the issues at stake with the authorities by 15 August 2011, then the suspension of the FFB would be automatically reinstated."
