Benfica were crowned Taca de Portugal champions tonight with a 2-1 victory over Pacos Ferreira at the Estadio Cidade de Coimbra.
Franco Jara fired the Lisbon club in after 17 minutes and Javi Garcia made the scoreline more comfortable three minutes before the interval.
And own goal from Anderson Luisao six minutes into the second half gave the match a different complexion, but Benfica clung on for their first cup success in seven years.
The win will offer some consolation to last season's Liga champions, who already know they will have to settle for second place in the league behind runaway leaders Porto.
