The 24-year-old is behind Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane in the pecking order at Spurs, a similar situation to the one Jermain Defoe found himself in before leaving for Portsmouth in January.

After signing from Charlton for £16.5million last summer, Bent feels it is too early to think about moving again.

"It's far too soon for that," he said.

"If it was two or three years down the line and I wasn't playing then maybe I'd have to think about it. I haven't even been here for a season, so I shouldn't be thinking about that yet.

"There is a lot of speculation saying I want to leave, but I know I want to be here."

Alan Curbishley signed Bent for Charlton and wanted him again after taking over at West Ham.

The striker rejected a move to Upton Park, but Curbishley has been linked with him again while his chances have been limited at Spurs.

He came off the bench against West Ham at the weekend and scored his sixth goal of the season.

"Anyone who knows me knows how frustrated I've been at not playing games - all I want to do is play," he added.

"What I have to do is bide my time now. I'll keep plugging away and see what happens.

"I'd prefer to play. But we have fantastic strikers, especially Berba and Keano - they have almost 40 goals between them this season.

"It will be difficult to dislodge them. But I know what I need to do - and as long as I'm at a good club like Spurs, then I'm happy.

"Obviously I'm used to playing week-in week-out, so I've had to adjust. Some people don't see that. They see that I'm at the club and should be doing the same as at Charlton.

"If you are not playing you can't do anything. It was nice to get on and get a goal. If I get an opportunity I'll just try to take it."

Bent was an unused substitute for the Carling Cup final and now wants to be part of a UEFA Cup triumph, with Spurs needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit against PSV Eindhoven this week to reach the quarter-finals.

"We won a cup, so everyone is delighted. But we know there is more to play for and we want to win the UEFA as well. We want two," Bent said.

"It was good to get a result against West Ham to take into Wednesday. We know what we have to do to get a result."

Jonathan Woodgate picked up a knock to his foot against West Ham and will be assessed before the PSV game. Captain Ledley King was rested at the weekend and is expected to travel to Holland.
