Berbatov has been in impressive form this season after moving to Craven Cottage from United in the summer, and has scored eight goals so far to become Fulham's top scorer.

However, the 32-year-old pulled up with a hamstring injury during his side's 3-1 midweek win against West Ham and manager Martin Jol has confirmed that the forward will not be available this weekend.

The injury is believed to be a minor tear as opposed to a more serious one, but the Bulgarian has nevertheless been deemed unfit for selection for Saturday's game.

Jol will also be without midfielder Steve Sidwell for the encounter.

Meanwhile, Jol told reporters that Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone came close to joining the Cottagers on Thursday.

Huddlestone had previously been linked with a move to several other clubs including QPR, but Jol revealed that Fulham could not complete a move for the 26-year-old despite entering negotiations.
