Berisha was criticised after his reaction to being substitute in Victory's midweek AFC Champions League clash with Kawasaki Frontale which they won thanks to a late Kosta Barbarouses strike.

The Kosovo international also has attracted criticism this season for being unable to produce his usual goals output but he silenced the critics with Sunday's treble.

"As always a lot of people criticise me every year," Berisha told Fox Sports.

"That's okay. I'm a player when people criticise me i just work harder.

"Some people say I get older but somehow every year i prove them wrong.

"It's up to me what I do, it's always a challenge every year to score goals. I work hard for that."

Berisha also insisted his midweek reaction to being substituted was nothing against coach Kevin Muscat nor the club.

"It's never easy for a player like me to come off when a game is not decided," he said.

"It's nothing against Kevin or the club. It's just i like to decide the game and I want to help win the game.

"It's nothing against him. Otherwise I would not be here.

"I'm very happy at the club. It's just me, it's the package you get with me."

Berisha also said he felt Victory had found their best form of the season.

"I was hoping to get this way earlier in the season but you cannot change sometimes," he said

"There's great momentum in the team and a good feeling.

"We're trying to put this on the field. We're gelling in the Champions League.

"Now we're number three in the table and we're playing great. It's the perfect way to end the season towards the play-offs."
