Melbourne Victory have signed star striker Besart Berisha to a new one-year contract with the club.
The deal will keep the A-League’s all-time leading goal scorer at Victory until the end of the 2018/19 season.
“The trust I have with Kevin, the coaches and the club was a big reason why I decided to re-sign," Berisha said.
“From day one when I came to Victory I have enjoyed playing for this club, it’s a privilege to play in front of the amazing supporters.
“I enjoy the challenge of trying to be the best, the club wants to be the best, I want to be the best - I want to achieve more history with this club.”
Victory coach Kevin Muscat was “delighted” to have secured Berisha for another campaign.
“Bes’ record speaks for itself and we’re delighted to keep him for another season,” Muscat said.
“His contribution to the club over the past three-and-a-half seasons has been immense and we look forward to plenty more goals from him in the future.”
Berisha, who holds the record for most goals in a single season at Victory, has made a huge impact on the A-League since arriving in 2011.
After winning two A-League Championships with Brisbane Roar, Berisha joined Victory in 2014, adding another A-League Championship, Premiers Plate and FFA Cup in 2015 to his already impressive CV.
