According to Japanese reports the deal is done, bringing the curtain down on one of the most talked-about and sometimes controversial A-League careers.

As the league's most prolific striker, Berisha amassed 116 A-League goals across seven seasons. The 32-year-old Albanian helped Victory to a premiership, two championships and an FFA Cup win.

He was first introduced to A-League watchers at Brisbane Roar (2011-14) where hid deadly skill in front of goal helped Ange Postecoglou's Roarcelona to an amazing title run that included two championships and a premiership.

A fiery and often divisive figure he was loved by home fans but a villain to others.

He joined Victory in 2014 and scored 86 goals for Victory in 137 games across all competitions. Although criticised for being less prolific last season he still managed 14 goals in 28 A-League games.

The two-time A-League Golden Boot winner was contracted to Victory until June 2019.

More to come...
