Melbourne Victory's under-fire striker Besart Berisha netted a goal and provided an assist to silence the critics as his side triumphed 3-0 away to Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night.
The Kosovo international laid off the pass for Kosta Barbarouses' 36th minute opener, before doubling his side's lead on 68 minutes.
The display comes after Berisha was criticised for his form, despite being Victory's top scorer with six goals from 14 appearances.
"I hear the criticism," Berisha told Fox Sports.
"For me, it's really important I focus on my club and my team. I try to always be ready and help my team.
"I try every week. Sometimes I miss opportunites but I never give up. I'm always going to give 100 per cent.
"This is the type of stirker I am. I'm happy today, I scored for the team. It's important I fight for my teammates."
The result sees Victory move above rivals Melbourne City on goal difference in third spot, although the latter have a game in hand.
Victory have now won seven of their past 11 matches and appear a championship threat.
"I feel like things are working for us," Berisha said.
"We're everyday trying to fix small things and small mistakes.
"We're starting to play really well. I hope we can continue."
He added: "I thought the boys played amazing tonight. I can believe it was one of our best games.
"Everyone played great, we fought. We want more, we're hungry. We wanted a positive performance and I'm happy for that."
Victory next meet leaders Sydney FC in their traditional Anzac Day clash in Melbourne.
