Among the new faces staged to make their debut are Aleksandar Susnjar, who plies his trade alongside Golgol Mebrahtu at Czech club Mlada Boleslav, yet is still to make an appearance.

Mebrahtu, who has scored 14 times in 32 league appearances for the Czech club, is excluded however, with Jamie Maclaren (one in five for Hibernian) preferred instead. There is also no Brandon Borrello, despite the Kaiserslautern winger's phenomenal surge in Germany.

Joshua Brillante is included after his phenomenal form for Sydney FC, while Tim Cahill makes the cut despite his lack of game time at Millwall. Brad Jones was an expected inclusion, with Mitch Langerak alongside Danny Vukovic as the four goalkeepers.

James Meredith, Josh Risdon, Andrew Nabbout, James Troisi and Nikita Rukavytsa are the other somewhat surprise-packages. No Luke Wilkshere, Brett Holman, Daniel Arzani or Chris Ikonomidis in sight.

The final squad of 23 will be confirmed next week.
