Speaking after today's slick launch for Australia's bid for the two World Cups to be announced in late 2010, the former national team striker said Sunday's launch was something he'll never forget.

"It's a dream come true," he told au.fourfourtwo.com. "It's something special for myself and I guess the people who are here, some of the Socceroos, you see some of the faces younger and older generation.

"We're all here for the same cause."

A number of Socceroo identities attended the lavish launch in the Great Hall at Parliament House in Canberra, including former Socceroo keeper Jack Reilly, 1974 coach Rale Rasic and former Socceroo Oscar Crino.

Another former Socceroo, Aboriginal star of the 1974 side Harry Williams (pictured) spoke at the launch. He said the World Cup on Australian soil would be a gift to future generations.

And a potential future Socceroo Jared Lum spoke eloquently of his dreams to move from Joey to full Socceroo in time for either home-based World Cup.

"Football has changed commercially since I played," added Krncevic. "We're very fortunate to have Frank Lowy and the government getting behind football.

"I think 20 years ago football getting the government behind it, or soccer as in those days, was unheard of.

"I feel we have a good chance. I do believe the FFA have employed people in Europe who are close to those nations who are going to decide on the bid.

"You really need to have good connections over there."

The Geelong-borne Krncevic is a former Belgian, Croatian and French league player who represented the Socceroos 35 times for 17 goals from 1979 to 1989. He is also an FFA Hall of Fame recipient.
