The Kosovan international will be staring down yet another A-League all-time record when Melbourne Victory face Sydney FC in the Biggest Blue this season.

Berisha currently sits one-behind fellow Big V legend Archie Thompson on the all-time finals goalscoring list. Thomspon struck 10 times in A-League finals, including a famous five against Adelaide United in the 2005 A-League Grand Final.

Berisha is currently on nine, making the former Socceroos' long-held achievement another piece of history the Victory striker could shatter in style against Sydney FC on Saturday.

On 110 goals, Berisha is already 20 strikes above Thompson on the all-time regular season goalscorer list, with Thompson (90) in third and Shane Smeltz (92) second.

The striker's coming fresh from a crucial last-minute bicycle goal in Victory's quarter-final against Adelaide United, a strike he said after the match was "a great goal but not like a Ronaldo ... it's much better."

“This is why I’m so motivated, I love finals, you know that."

The record could add some shine to a slightly dulled season for Berisha, who finished the 2017/18 season with 13 goals in the A-League in 25 appearances, his second lowest tally since moving to the A-league.
