ROVERS boss Sam Allardyce hopes Socceroo Brett Emerton can kick on and re-capture his best form after scoring the winner in Blackburn's 2-1 victory at Blackpool on Saturday.
Emerton's strike marked his first Premier League goal since October 2008 after a couple of injury-affected years and now Allardyce wants the Australia international to build on that.
"It has taken him a while to come back and get in the swing of it since the World Cup," Allardyce told the Rovers website. "But he's looking a lot sharper and a lot better I'm glad to say.
"And he's capped that off with a fantastic finish to win the game for us."
Emerton, who is contracted at Ewood Park until mid-2012, was linked with a move away from Blackburn in the last European summer.
