The Perth Glory striker and his wife celebrated the birth of their daughter Kaia Carmel overnight.

But the Irishman, who missed a number of chances in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Central Coast, was back at training, working on his game.

“The wife gave birth to our daughter last night,” Keogh said.

“It’s a great week in the Keogh household, we’re very happy.”

He added: “It’s a big game this weekend but I’ll go back to the hospital to check everything is okay.”

Keogh was regretful about his profligacy in front of goal on Saturday as Glory blew a three-goal buffer.

“I should’ve had a hat-trick really,” Keogh said. “I was very disappointed with myself.”

The 30-year-old said Glory’s attacking side showed plenty of positives but argued round one fixtures are always a bit odd.

“Everyone but me is going okay,” he said. “We were tremendous going forward.

“First games of the season in every country are always weird.

“The Mariners probably probably feel like they won the league after they got a thrashing in the first half.

“But fair play to them they showed good fighting spirit to come back and we’ve only got ourselves to blame.”
