BRETT Ormerod scored the winner to earn Blackpool a 3-2 victory over Cardiff in the Coca-Cola Championship play-off final and secure promotion to the English Premier League on Saturday.
The unfashionable Lancashire side, who were in the bottom division just nine years ago, will be rubbing shoulders with Chelsea and Manchester United next season after a thrilling Wembley victory.
Cardiff, bidding to become the first Welsh side in the Premier League, led twice through Michael Chopra and Joe Ledley but they were pegged back by Charlie Adam and Gary Taylor-Fletcher before veteran frontman Ormerod cracked the winner in first-half stoppage time.
