City were on the verge of one of the biggest upsets in FFA Cup history when Andrew netted his second goal on 104 minutes to put them 2-1 against the A-League side.

Wanderers replied in the second-half of extra time when Oriol Riera scored after 111 minutes, before the Spaniard converted the decisive penalty to clinch a 4-2 shootout win.

“I’m shattered,” Andrew told Fox Sports. “We were so close.

“To come back to 2-1 and give away a cheap goal, it was a very good header. Penalties is 50-50.

“We can hold our heads up high. We’ve done very well this season, it was a great effort.

“I was looking up every minute and I was hoping at 2-1 it would tick down to full-time.

“Unfortunately that’s football, they’re a very good side and we’ve done very well.”

The winger made an exceptional impact on the game after entering the fray on the hour mark, with his two goals turning the game.

“I know my own game. I’m pretty quick,” he said.

“But it’s all the team and the balls they put through. The belief we have with (Mark Crittenden) Critto, it’s good.”
