SOCCEROO David Carney is undergoing a medical in Holland and is set to be unveiled as a FC Twente player as early as today.
Sheffield United's website has reported that the two clubs have agreed terms and if the 25-year-old passes his medical in Holland, the former Sydney FC man will join one-time England coach Steve McClaren at the Eredivisie club.
Twente sit second in the Dutch league after four rounds.
Despite starring for the Socceroos over the last 12 months - including scoring a long-range rocket for Australia in a 3-0 friendly win against Republic of Ireland two weeks ago - Carney has been frozen out at Bramall Lane by coach Kevin Blackwell.
The left-sided midfielder had been linked with a move to Belgian club Anderlecht in recent weeks but now playing in Holland could give Carney's club career a boost ahead of next year's World Cup.
