In an interview with French newspaper L'Equipe, Blanc confirmed he already has in mind the 23 players he will take to Poland and Ukraine, but revealed question marks over the best midfield combination remain.

"My final hesitations regard a sector that has been a longstanding problem for us: the heart of the play," he said.

"We suffer from a lack of hierarchy and a shortage of experienced players in midfield. Players who have the potential to play for France are aplenty, but players who have proved they can really be part and parcel of the team are scarcer.

"And where is an international tournament played and won? Here, at the heart of the game."

France are in group D alongside England, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine.

Blanc has already hinted that he will not continue with Les Bleus after the competition, regardless of their results.
