GOLD Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg suggested his side may have been overconfident going into their derby clash with Brisbane Roar but believes his team will improve following Sunday's 0-0 draw.
Roar had much the better of the first half with Gold Coast failing to produce a meaningful effort on target.
The home team had their chances after the break but in the end, Bleiberg had few complaints about the result.
"We didn't play well today but on the positive side we didn't concede a goal and we didn't lose the game," he said.
"Credit to the Roar, they passed the ball well and were well organised. Perhaps we were a little over confident but we did improve a lot in the second half after making a few adjustments during the break.
"We had a few opportunities as well so in the end it was probably a fair result. I think Roar will be pleased with the result, especially after last season, but we go away knowing we can do a lot better - and we will."
