Suwon Bluewings booked their place in next season's Asian Champions League after defeating Busan I'Park 1-0 to win the Korean FA Cup.
Despite the showpiece encounter taking place at Busan, Yeom Ki-hoon scored the all-important goal after 26 minutes of a closely-fought contest.
The South Korea international pounced on a defensive mistake on the right side of the area to send a low shot under the diving body of Lee Beom-yong.
Busan did all they could to get back in the match but were unable to break down a stubborn Suwon defence.
Coach Yoon Sung-hyo is hopeful that his team can surpass their performance in this year's edition of the continental competition when they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage.
"It is a big deal to qualify for the AFC Champions League," said Yoon, who took over the team in June.
"We will be looking to strengthen our team and give it a good go next year.
"We played well in the first half but were not as good in the second. Still, the players gave it their all and for that I would like to thank them."
