The charge relates to the conduct of Boro's players towards referee Mark Halsey following Didier Digard's sending-off in the second half of Albion's 3-0 victory at The Hawthorns.

A statement on the Football Association's website, thefa.com, read: "Middlesbrough have today admitted a charge of failing to control their players.

"Middlesbrough have requested a personal hearing, which will be scheduled in due course."

The charge adds to Boro manager Gareth Southgate's woes, with the club having dropped into the relegation zone following a run of 12 league games without a win.
