Bayern Munich-bound Tim Borowski insists the appointment of Jurgen Klinsmann as coach from next season had no impact on his decision to join the club.
The Germany midfielder, who was a regular under Klinsmann in the national team, will move to the Allianz Arena in the summer after rejecting a new deal at Werder Bremen.
Klinsmann will succeed Ottmar Hitzfeld as Bayern boss in the summer, but Borowski has denied suggestions he is the former Germany coach's first signing.
He told the Bild newspaper: "When I agreed to move to Bayern, Klinsmann had not yet been confirmed as the new coach.
"I am pleased that he will be. But he played no part in my decision."
