The announcement came a day after JEF United - who recently signed Australian Eddie Bosnar - picked up their seventh straight loss with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of league leaders Urawa Reds.

The club is looking for a successor from outside the country and is expected to announce a new appointment in the next few days.

JEF United released five players, including Japan midfielder Naotake Hanyu and Japan Olympic team defender Hiroki Mizumoto at the end of last season but were unable to fill the void they left and consequently they have struggled this season, collecting just two points.
