Mark Bosnich has thrown his weight behind a push to cap Daniel Arzani for the Socceroos, in response to suggestions the midfielder may switch allegiances to Iran.
The Iranian national team has not formally shown interest in the 19-year-old so far, however rumours are spreading that they may want to take the young Melbourne City star to the 2018 World Cup.
When questioned over whether he'd prefer to play for Iran or Australia, the dual-national said, “I’d have to talk to my parents, I’d have to talk to my father and we’d have to decide together.
“I’ve got no idea.”

if he didn't have Iranian nationality at that time, tied to Oz already.
if he did have Iranian nationality at that time, can't simply "cap" him in any match. must be an official match.

Following another sensational display from the teenager against Brisbane Roar, Mark Bosnich said the Socceroos couldn't afford to lose Arzani.
“I think he’s very special and there was that period basically after Budzinski had equalised where he was taking the game by the scruff of the neck,” Bosnich said on Foxsports' Sunday Shootout.
“He was given the room and the space and time to cause havoc but he’s exuberant, it’s great to see a smile on his face and I reckon he’s a wonderful acquisition, not only for Melbourne City but for the league as well.
“If I was the FFA, I know there’s been talk about him possibly playing for Iran, just arrange a game against anyone and just cap him.”
