YOUNG Aussie Dean Bouzanis's loan from Liverpool to Wrexham for some vital first team experience looks set to end before it's even begun.
Wrexham appeared to have sealed a season-long deal for Bouzanis last month but after repeated delays and training sessions without Bouzanis, the club now accepts the deal is no longer going through.
On the eve of the new season, Wrexham have reluctantly accepted they won't get to see the teenager in action between the sticks for them and need to find a replacement urgently.
Dragons boss Dean Saunders admitted to the Western Mail: "The Bouzanis situation has been really frustrating for me because it's run into a bit of a snag and I'm bitterly disappointed.
"I thought he was coming but I don't think that's going to happen now. I'm very frustrated about it.
"But we are in the Conference and Liverpool are in the Premier League so sometimes you have to rely on them to do things when they want to do them."
He added: "I have had back-ups, but obviously there comes a point when these lads have had offers and I've had to say no. This has gone on six weeks."
