FORMER Liverpool goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis has joined English League One club Oldham on a one-month deal.
The 20-year-old, who former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez once said was the best goalkeeper in the world at his age, had been trialing with the Latics in recent weeks.
Bouzanis, an Australia youth international, spent four and a half years at Liverpool before almost joining Melbourne Victory in the close season.
However he has since been trialing at a number of European clubs as he chases a contract.
Oldham boss Paul Dickov rushed in the deal before Saturday's 0-0 draw at Bournemouth, following an injury to Paul Gerrard, who is the back-up keeper to another Aussie, Alex Cisak.
"Dean is a talented boy and he has signed non-contract forms,” Dickov told the club's website.
"Paul Gerrard has come in and done ever so well, but he is struggling as he has pulled a muscle in his arm and Dean gives us cover."
