EXCLUSIVE: A threat by VPL clubs to boycott playing this week's finals appears to have fizzled out after the FFV promised to review the competition.
In response to the clubs' concerns about promotion and relegation and other issues concerning the running of the winter league, the FFV have promised a full review of the status of promotion and relegation of next year's 12-team VPL.
The FFV however appears likely to pursue their plan for a summer league based on zones in Melbourne.
Elsewhere at state level, Football NSW has assured au.fourfourtwo.com that there will be a tribunal in the coming weeks to address serious allegations raised against a high ranking FNSW official arising out of a game in late July.
The Federation did not give a date for the hearing but said it would be independent and both sides would be given a chance to present their cases.
