To be played at Sydney University this Saturday, the day is set to feature former Socceroos Mark Bosnich and Craig Foster and organiser Andrew Tilley says $13,000 has already been raised for those affected by the Queensland floods.

Two teams of 11 players, plus reserves will play continuously for 24 hours and each participant will donate $100 to play, with all money donated going to the Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal.

“Over the last few months the damage caused by floods in Queensland has been horrific,” Tilley told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"Many communities have been devastated and some families have lost everything. We really encourage individuals and businesses to support us by playing and donating, or just donating, to such an important cause.

“To think that a month ago when the two of us [Mike Donnelly and myself begun organising this event, we had an idea in our head that we’d just be kicking a football around with a few mates.

“Now we’ll be stepping on to the field with two ex-Socceroos, including one of the best goalkeepers of his decade. A guy who’s played for Manchester United and Chelsea. It’s just amazing.”

Although  the game won’t be the longest ever – that honour goes to a match in the UK last year, according to the Guinness World Records – it still should be quite a spectacle.

“Who know’s what the scoreline will be,” he added. “I imagine that both teams will definitely hit the triple figure mark. At least there will be no chance over a boring nil-all draw!”
