Socceroos left-back Brad Smith will miss the upcoming friendly with Kuwait after his MLS club Seattle Sounders confirmed the extent of his hamstring injury.
The 24-year-old had to be replaced after 17 minutes in Seattle's 3-0 defeat away to LA Galaxy on Monday morning (AEST).
Seattle confirmed Smith has been ruled out for two to three weeks with a standard grade one hamstring strain.
The injury means Smith won't be considered for selection for Australia's friendly with Kuwait to be played in Kuwait City on October 15 ahead of the 2019 Asian Cup in the UAE.

The former Liverpool talent, who is on loan at Seattle from Premier League club Bournemouth, had missed out on selection in Graham Arnold's maiden squad for a training camp in Turkey earlier this month.
Smith was a key figure in Australia's 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign but a lack of club football meant he missed Bert van Marwijk's final squad for Russia.
He has since mounted a case for re-selection with six impressive appearances including an assist in the MLS.
