England kick-off their World Cup campaign against the USA in Rustenburg on June 12 and it promises to be the pivotal encounter in Group C.

Bradley admits that his initial reaction was "Oh no" when he heard the draw, but quickly saw the bigger picture.

"It's a big challenge but one that we're excited about," Bradley BBC Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek programme.

"Our fans are so excited. I started getting texts from players just thrilled about what a challenge and an opportunity it is.

"It will make a lot more impact with the first game being against England. I think it will mean that the interest will be at an all-time high (in America).

"In terms of our continued growth, it couldn't be a bigger or better opportunity."

Bradley picked out Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard and Fulham's Clint Dempsey, as well as David Beckham's LA Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan as his key players.

He also tipped Beckham to be on England's plane to South Africa.

Bradley said: "He still has great quality with his deliveries, with his set-piece ability and I think the likelihood is that we'll see him in the squad."

Bradley revealed that the USA were trying to set up friendlies with Holland, the Czech Republic and Australia in preparation for facing England.

Speculating on likely winners of the tournament, he added: "Based on form in the last two years, Spain is the team to beat.

"They are a terrific footballing team, great players. Xavi is still an incredible player in the middle of their team and Fernando Torres is still very important."

Bradley also admitted he had ambitions to manage in England.

He said: "I'm a huge fan of the game in England and the opportunity to manage or be an assistant manager at some point would absolutely be something that I would consider."
