Central Coast Mariners midfielder Wout Brama appears set to return to action following injury in Saturday’s clash with leaders Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium.
Brama missed the Mariners’ 2-2 draw with Melbourne City on the weekend due to a hamstring injury.
“I’m still training on the field. I’m back on the pitch,” the Dutchman said.
“We’ll have to see how the reaction is tomorrow but if everything goes well, I expect I’ll be there on Saturday.”
Brama’s return is a boost for the Mariners, who inflicted the Sky Blues’ only defeat of the campaign earlier this season, triumphing 2-0 in Gosford.
“Of course you take the good things out of the game but it’s a brand new game,” Brama said.
“You can never look back in sport. You always have to look to forward.
“If you lose or win, you keep doing the good things and learn from your mistakes.”
Brama said shutting down Sydney’s prolific front four would be the key to repeating their previous result along with playing their brand of football.
“It will be the same message as always,” he said.
“We have to keep playing our football and be brave on the ball and show our personality.
“That’s the only way we can win games. At least we’re creating chances. We need to execute and then we can win games.”
