The crowd was the Mariners’ best since hosting Western Sydney in January 2016, having averaged home attendances of 7,395 last season.

The Mariners host fellow winless side Melbourne Victory at Central Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Their bumper Round One crowd witnessed a 5-1 thrashing from rivals Newcastle Jets which may have turned them off returning, but Brama wants to show the supporters they should stick with the Mariners.

“I’m really looking forward ot that game because the first game didn’t work out well,” Brama said.

“I want to show the crowd - it was 12,000, it was a really good atmosphere - and we want to give the crowd something back.

“Hopefully we can improve from the last game we played at home.

“(Losing) 5-1 against our big rivals is not a good result and we want to come back from that.

“As a team we ant to fight and show the crowd we’re ready for three points.”

Brama was named FoxSports’ Player of the Match in last round’s 2-1 loss to Perth Glory and has adjusted well.

He was optimistic he’d only improve and said he was looking forward to more games on home turf having settled in Gosford.

“The crowd was really enthusiastic,” he said.

“The pitch was good and they told me it’s improving in the coming weeks.

“I’m looking forward to playing there again. Hopefully we can collect our first three points at home.”
