Luke Brattan says it would’ve been an injustice if Melbourne City lost to their crosstown rivals last night.
City shared the points with Melbourne Victory as the derby finished 1-1 at AAMI Park thanks to a late Dario Vidosic equaliser.
Brattan added that City had the better of Victory in the first-half, but felt they were hard-done-by after they conceded a 55th minute Ola Toivonen goal.
He added the draw was a fair result in the end.
“Judging from the chances we got, we should’ve been 1-0 or 2-0 up at half-time,” Brattan told FTBL.
“We had a couple of good chances and we didn’t put them away and they had a half chance and punished us. It was good to get a goal at the end and we haven’t dropped three points.
“I didn’t think we deserved to lose, so I think there was a bit of justice in the end. It was a good game, it was exciting and a pleasure we didn’t lose it.”

Brattan also said the performance wasn’t good enough and that they could do better.
“The performance was OK, but I think we gave the ball away cheaply at times,” he said.
“We just lacked that ruthlessness up front. If we change that, it’s definitely three points.
“Ola’s goal was just a lack of concentration and we switched off for one minute. We gave the ball away in a stupid position and got punished. They’re a great side and they do that to teams.”
Brattan was sporting a bleach blond hairstyle last night and has developed a reputation for wacky hairdos.
The 28-year-old has sported cornrows, Gabriel Batistuta-like long locks and subsequently cut it two seasons ago for charity.
“We’ll see what style comes in next,” he said.
"I just got bored, I get bored pretty easily. I did it mid-last year and I thought ‘Why not?’.”
