Porto forward Hulk and AC Milan centre-back Thiago Silva account for two of three berths reserved for 'over-age' players, with the other slot having been filled by Real Madrid full-back Marcelo.

Santos striker Neymar, meanwhile, has already firmly established himself in his country's senior squad and he will be joined in the Olympic team by another experienced youngster in the form of Alexandre Pato, who only recently returned to full fitness after an injury-plagued season at Milan.

There is also room in the 18-strong travelling party for a plethora of other full internationals, including Brazil-based starlets Oscar, Lucas, Ganso and Leandro Damiao.

Manchester United full-back Rafael and Tottenham midfielder Sandro have also made the cut, while Marquinhos, Giuliano, Casemiro and Gabriel have all been placed on standby by coach Mano Menezes.

Brazil, who are scheduled to play Great Britain in a friendly at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough on July 20, have been drawn in Group C alongside Egypt, Belarus and New Zealand.
