Australia striker Tomi Juric has revealed experienced Brazil defender Thiago Silva offered up some rare praise to the Socceroos after Saturday's 2-1 World Cup loss to France.
Silva, who played a full game in Brazil's 1-1 draw with Switzerland on Monday morning (AEST), texted Australia assistant coach Mark van Bommel following the Socceroos display against Les Bleus.
The 33-year-old Paris Saint Germain defender is a former team-mate of van Bommel, from their time together at AC Milan.

"Mark van Bommel got a text message from one of his former teammates, Thiago Silva, complimenting us on how well we played against a top opposition," Juric said.
"We saw in that game we can do things and play against top opposition.
"France is one of the favourites to go on and win the World Cup. We played a fantastic game against them. The coaching staff was full of compliments."
Juric said the mood within the Socceroos camp was upbeat ahead of Thursday's crunch clash with Denmark.
"Everything is still up in the air and up for grabs," he said. "I'm very positive about our chances of progressing through this group.
"The feeling within the group is very poistive. It's sometihng we'll look to use and go on to get a result against Denmark.
"They're a different challenge. They're more direct in their play. We saw their last game against Peru, they looked very dangerous going forward.
"I think we've got a really good chance to get a result."
