Copa America holders Brazil overcame CONCACAF Gold Cup winners the United States 4-2 in a clash of the continental champions in Chicago.
Bob Bradley's side took the lead after 21 minutes of the friendly at Soldier Field when Carlos Bocanegra got on the end of Landon Donovan's free-kick.
However, the Selecao equalised 12 minutes later in somewhat fortuitous circumstances as, after Tim Howard blocked a shot by Kaka, the rebound hit defender Oguchi Onyewu and the ball ended up in the back of the net.
Brazil took the lead seven minutes after the break when Lucio met Ronaldinho's corner and beat Howard with a header.
Clint Dempsey levelled things up in the 73rd minute after good work on the right side by Steve Cherundolo but Brazil regained their advantage just a minute later thanks to a Ronaldinho free-kick.
Elano completed the scoring from the spot in the final minute.
Kaka was happy to come out on top against difficult opponents.
"We faced a team who are strong defensively but we moved the ball well and created good chances," he said.
However, midfielder Gilberto Silva was less than impressed with the state of the Soldier Field playing surface.
"It was a very difficult pitch for us to play on because we have a skilful team that likes to build goalscoring chances."
Ronaldinho, meanwhile, was satisfied with his display.
"I'm improving in each game and each training session when playing with the national team."
Elsewhere, Costa Rica and Honduras played out a goalless draw at Rentschler Field in East Hartford but the Ticos lifted the Independencia Centroamericana Cup by triumphing 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out, Walter Centeno, Danny Fonseca, Victor Nunez on target for the Costa Ricans.
Finally, Mexico were leading Panama 1-0 in Puebla before bad weather forced referee Alex Prus to abandon the game at half-time.
Hugo Sanchez's side went in front after 33 minutes thanks to Panama defender Felipe Baloy's own goal.
