Former Socceroo great Mark Bresciano describes Ange Postecoglou as the "biggest dreamer" and has backed the national team coach to take the green and gold to new heights.
Bresciano was the most capped player in Australia's 2014 World Cup campaign – a period when Postecoglou brought in unfamiliar faces, including players from the A-League.
The Socceroos are coming off an unconvincing 3-2 win over Saudi Arabia in the World Cup Qualifiers and now take on Brazil in a farewell friendly at the MCG before flying to Russia for the 2017 Confederations Cup.
With the team's performances coming under increased scrutiny, Bresciano defended Postecoglou saying he is doing a “great job”.

“I’ve said it before, he’s one of the national team coaches I’ve had that’s had the most patience, commitment, desire and he’s the biggest dreamer,” Bresciano told FourFourTwo at the recent Nike Futsal event.
“He’s able to see things that we can’t, he’s a big dreamer and he really believes Australians should be up there and competing against the best."

Sainsbury sick of media 'hammering'
Yesterday, Socceroos defender Trent Sainsbury spoke out against recent criticism, saying "everything we do today is getting hammered", while Bresciano also weighed in on the recent qualifier.
“I think I’m going to repeat what everyone has been saying (about the Saudi Arabia game) because it was a poor first half and it was good to see there was a reaction in the second half,” he said.
Seven players of that 2013 team are in the current squad, but Bresciano feels Australia can beat Brazil.
“If we do play to our strengths, we’ll be very hard to beat on home soil,” he said.
“They’re very tough, I don’t think they’ve been performing to their ability, but the important thing was they got the three points which will be a good confidence boost for them.
“Tuesday night, I think it’ll be more a privilege to play a team against Brazil.”
