La Gazzetta dello Sport says Stoke City have enquired about Bresciano and claims the English outfit have actually already made an offer for the 30-year-old midfielder.

Bresciano, who has been with Palermo since 2006, appears certain to leave Sicily when his contract expires next June.

The club's director of sport, Walter Sabatini, has made it clear Bresciano isn't a required player at the Renzo Barbera.

The Melbourne-born midfielder, who has also been linked with a move to Sampdoria, is currently battling a nagging back problem and hasn't played for Palermo since mid-February.

He has also been linked with a move to join Brett Emerton and Vince Grella at Blackburn Rovers.
