SOCCEROO Mark Bresciano's future appears away from Palermo after the club's director of football admitted the Aussie was likely to leave in the European summer.
The 30-year-old Australian international, who is understood to have returned to training this week having not played since mid-February due to a nagging back injury, comes out of contract at the Renzo Barbera this June.
And Palermo director of football, Walter Sabatini, told TGS Studio Stadio earlier this week he expects Bresciano will move on.
"I do not think he will remain in Palermo. It seems very difficult," Sabatini said.
Bresciano, who arrived at the Sicilian club in 2006, hasn't convinced Palermo fans recently with inconsistent performances.
Nevertheless, last November the Australian midfielder claimed he was happy to stay at Palermo and had ‘no reason to leave'.
The former Parma midfielder has recently been linked in the Italian press with an off-season move to fellow Serie A club Sampdoria.
