SOCCEROO goal hero Brett Holman was delighted by the result against Oman and sees great things ahead for the burgeoning partnership he's developing with strike partner Josh Kennedy.
Holman scored the first and set up the second in Australia's easy 3-0 win over Oman which earned man of the match plaudits for the Eredivisie star.
He was on the bench for the Malaysia friendly in Canberra on Friday but bounced back with a comfortable performance at the heart of Australia's attack for the World Cup 2014 qualifier.
Now he hopes to keep his claws stuck into that spot and cultivate an even greater winning double act with lanky sidekick Kennedy.
"I think it can always be better but we both scored so that's going well," he said after the game. "It was good.
"The most important thing was the three points so we did that and we didn't give too many chances away so I'm happy."
He added: "To watch the game in Canberra was good and we played fanastic football with a lesser opponent but we played a great game.
"I'm happy with the way I'm going at the moment."
Fellow goalscorer Mile Jedinak celebrated his goal by shoving the matchball up his jersey and explained himself after the game.
"My wife is due to give birth to our first child in a couple of weeks so that one was for her," he said.
"I was happy to score but first and foremost the three points and we kept a cleansheet as well so congratulations to all the boys."
Jedinak is another fighting to lay claim to a permanent spot in coach Holger Osieck's first XI and admits competition is fierce.
"It's always been like that," he said. "Ever since I came into the squad it's always been a strong position.
"We have a lot of depth there and you have to perform every time you step on the park and tonight was no different."
But the former Central Coast Mariners star is happy with the way life is going after his recent move from Turkey to English Championship side Crystal Palace.
He added: "Things are good. Obviously I've moved to a new country and new league and I'm finding my feet.
"I'm happy with the way things have started, especially with the national team as well, three wins from three games is fantastic."
