MARK Bridge insists he has no regrets about his move to Sydney FC despite a campaign that has failed to live up to all the pre-season hype.
The striker was one of the club's big-name recruits but the club's billing as title favourites has proved to be undeserved.
Speaking after training today at Sydney Football Stadium, Bridge said: "Training has been intense this week as always and hopefully we can put the last four weeks behind us and get a win back home.
"I feel like we've had a point to prove all season to be honest with you. Things haven't gone our way, call it what you want to call it - bad luck, playing bad.
"As much as some of it isn't our fault, some of it is. It's just one of those seasons I guess.
"We're in the situation we're in now and we still want to finish as high as possible.
"The boys are all professionals and we'll go out and try and win the last three games."
While Bridge admits a finals spot is a very long shot now, it still matters to the players where they finish in the table.
He said: "You don't want to finish seventh or eighth and with the players we've got we should never finish in the bottom two."
Bridge left Newcastle Jets at the end of last year and they have Asian Champions League football to look forward to. So did he make the right decision to leave?
With a glint in his eye, Bridge said: "They're coming dead last. I think I made a pretty clever move.
"I'm happy with this team. We've got a lot of great players. It's an excellent set up, new owners next year."
As for his own efforts this season Bridge felt his campaign mirrored that of the team. "Up and down. As a striker I would probably have liked more goals.
"Unless you're Shane Smeltz I think every other striker is pretty disappointed (with their tally)."
