The Adelaide midfielder says playing concurrent Asian Champions League and A-League campaigns over the last few months has steeled the side for its clash with nemesis Victory at the much-criticised Telstra Dome tomorrow night.

"I feel it might be an advantage. We've pretty much played sometimes twice a week," Barbiero told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"I think the boys are conditioned to play a couple of games a week."

The Reds are set to play their third game in six days when they back up against the Jets at Hindmarsh this Friday night.

Barbiero, 24, also says that after such a dramatic season at Hindmarsh, the side has set itself up well for a shot at A-League grand final redemption. And a win over their Victorian rivals would go a long way to ensuring a top two finish.

"We're feeling pretty good now but I think this year could be our year."

A good result on Tuesday night would go a long way to ensuring the in-form Reds, who defeated Sydney FC 2-0 on Saturday night, would finish in the all-important top two going into the finals.

The ACL finalists currently sit on 30 points with a game in hand on Victory who loom large on 29 points in second spot.

Three points over their bitter rivals would continue the Reds' dream run this season.

"We're grinding out results and doing well," added the former Adelaide Galaxy player. "And it's a very close league.

"But for us to get a home grand final especially after we got smashed against Melbourne two years ago, we'd want to turn that around and hopefully do the same to them over here."

However, Tuesday night's game is still in some doubt after the shock state of the surface prior to last Friday night's clash between Melbourne and Queensland.

Telstra Dome workers were seen picking debris – said to be glass and metal - out of the surface before Victory's 2-1 win.

On New Year's Eve, the Dome hosted a large dance party called Sensation with an estimated 40,000 punters partying the night away.

However, Victory coach Ernie Merrick and his players slammed the surface after the game saying it was "totally unacceptable".

Referee Peter O'Leary was ready to call the game off on Friday night but Merrick and Roar coach Frank Farina had their say to ensure the game went ahead.

FFA officials are scheduled to meet Dome management on Tuesday and the upshot could be a cancellation.

But this would seem an extreme course of action given the game is already a rescheduled fixture following the Reds' Club World Cup commitments in December.

"I saw Melbourne play on it the other night and didn't look too crash hot," said Barbiero.

"It looked cut up .. I guess they'll have to get it in to good order for us to play on it."
