Carson Pickett picked Western Sydney’s pocket as the Roar snuck away from Marconi Stadium with all three points against a disappointed Wanderers side.
Pickett notched one home from a beautifully delivered free kick, and Brisbane held on to move level with ladder leaders Perth Glory and Newcastle Jets on six points from three games.
Brisbane will take a lot of heart from the clean sheet – before this match they had one of the worst defensive records in the league.
The Wanderers meanwhile slump to their second defeat of the season, yet to weave their legacy into the rich tapestry of Marconi Stadium.
