The resurgent Roar came away with a 1-0 win over the Mariners and returned to the top six at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.
Brisbane opened the scoring through Henrique, following Eric Beautheac's square ball into the penalty area, for the Slippery Fish to finish with aplomb.
Andrew Hoole's miss summed up the Mariners' season, after his free-kick hit the underside of the bar but failing to cross the goal-line.
Alan Baro couldn't equalise after heading over the woodwork from the rebound.
Brisbane should have had a penatly, but either way, both sides were unable to finish and the hosts hung on to the important three points.
Brisbane Roar
Jamie Young (GK) - 7
Bailed out his defence with a fantastic save to deny Pain. Wasn't overly threatened due to the Mariner's poor execution.
Jack Hingert - 7.5
Brilliant vision to deliver the through ball for Bautheac in the lead-up to the goal. Provided more great passes throughout the match.
Jacob Pepper - 6.5
Broke up promising attack, read play well.
Daniel Bowles - 7
Made key interceptions and clearances
Ivan Franjic - 7.5
Had a sluggish start but improved impressively. Was solid in defence and great in attack also, with a low shot that copped an unlucky deflection.
Thomas Kristensen - 7.5
Desperate defending and was willing to get the ball up-field quickly to ignite attack.
Matt McKay - 6
The Captain had a fairly quiet one, in what was an average game anyway.
Massimo Maccarone - 5.5
Classy pass to Khalfallah. had an impressive finish, but the goal was ruled out due to a foul. Had several chances but could not execute with any artistry.
Maccarone hit the back of the net but didn’t get his name on the scoresheet with this disallowed goal 🙅♂️ #BRIvCCM #ALeague

Fahid Ben Khalfallah - 6.5
Full of energy as always, lurking in the area as well as putting in crosses. Did lack some quality in the final third.
Eric Bautheac - 8.5
Was a class above the rest and was so dangerous down the flank providing insane pace. His cut-back to assist Henrique was stellar.
Henrique took the lead for Brisbane by sliding this shot past Kennedy!

Henrique - 7
Consistently had an eye for attack with runs and crosses into the box. Great composure to finish for the opening goal.
SUBS
Corey Gameiro - 7.5
Provided his usual energy and pace. Recieved the ball in a prime position but was thwarted by Baro.
Mitchell Oxborrow - N/A
Looked lively but didn't do enough for a rating.
Connor O'Toole was due to come on in stoppage time, but time ran out.
Central Coast Mariners
Ben Kennedy (GK) - 7
Looked comfortable and dealt with the early aerial attacks. Had a solid game bar the goal.
Storm Roux - 6.5
Was aggressive. Some great passing in the midfield, but could have done better to pick out a player inside the area, which let his side down.
Alan Baro - 7
Headed chance over the bar from the rebound, 5-yards out. Had an average game, but picked up late in the second half to still give his side a chance.
Kye Rowles - 3
Let in Bautheac too easily. Blocked Henrique's shot but was no match for the Frenchman. Got away with an obvious handball.
Of course it's going to look deliberate if you slow down the replay by 100x when in real time it's 5 frames of video between the kick and it hitting hand. #BRIvCCM pic.twitter.com/qU0ijddG8Y

Josh Rose - 4
Had a quiet match and did not see much of the ball.
Liam Rose - 7
Defensive header to block Maccarone. Desperate to thwart Maccarone, remained composed.
Wout Brama - 7
Had a solid game with accurate passing and always looked to get forward.
Andrew Hoole - 6
Effort filzzled out and wide of the post. Spectacular free-kick, very unlucky that the ball didn't fully cross the line after smashing the underside of the crossbar. Poor touch let him down in attack.
Lachlan Wales - 8
Good on the ball, passing and one-two's. Great ball to Powell for a chance. Had been the Mariners' best.
Connor Pain - 5
Wasn't alert and came in late to recieve any passes. Failed to execute from close range after being denied by Young.
Blake Powell - 6
Got into great positions but lacked the final shot due to sloppiness.
Clever pass to Pain for a chance to equalise. Overall, his decision-making was average especially in dangerous areas.
SUBS
Jordan Smylie - N/A
The debutant didn't do enough for a fair rating.
Jake McGing - 6
Started lively, but lacked the quality to hurt Brisbane.
Trent Buhagiar - N/A
Didn't do enough for a rating.
