BRISBANE Roar skipper Matt McKay insists his departure on Asian Cup duties won't have a negative impact on the club's impressive march towards A-League silverware.
McKay will be away with the Socceroos as Roar look to push on with their tremendous unbeaten run but the midfielder isn't concerned that his absence will suddenly rock the boat.
"They will be fine," McKay told The Courier Mail.
"Mitch (Nichols) has been doing great, Massimo (Murdocca) has had a bit of a rest now and has come on always in that last half and been different . . . we'll be fine in the midfield."
Coach Ange Postecoglou added: "He's definitely been one of the best midfielders in the A-League.
"The way he's been playing there's no reason why he can't transfer that to the Socceroos.
"It's going to be a pretty hard series of games in extreme conditions over there, so Matty's fitness and his work-rate would come in handy."
