English and Scottish clubs have joined the hunt for off-contract Australian centre back Giancarlo Gallifuoco.
The defender is a free agent after spending the 2016/2017 season with National League club Torquay United.
FourFourTwo understands an English League One club and one from the Scottish Premiership have expressed an interest in signing Gallifuoco. The Sydneysider has also been targeted by several National League clubs with Torquay already offering him a new contract for 2017/2018.
Gallifuoco joined the Gulls last year after a season with Melbourne Victory. The 23-year old helped Torquay avoid relegation.
A Sutherland Sharks junior, Gallifuoco came through NSWIS and the AIS before joining Tottenham in 2012 at the age of 18. He spent two years with Spurs and one with Swansea City before heading to the A-League.
Able to play in central defence, central midfield and at right back, Gallifuoco has represented Australia at Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 level.
