Sydney FC have released Kiwi teenager Jeremy Brockie “for personal reasons”. Brockie confirmed to www.au.fourfourtwo.com personal issues were behind his exit but added he was disillusioned with the lack of match time he got last season under Terry Butcher.
"Obviously I’m disappointed with the lack of game time I got but I learned so much from guys like Stevie Corica and Ufuk Talay and I think I've become a better player," said Brockie, who was originally signed by season one coach Pierre Littbarski.
Brockie appeared just seven times for the Moore Park side, starting just twice in the 23 games last season.
"I'm going back home and will focus on the NZ U/2Os. I have a few personal things to sort out and then we’ll see what happens after that."
The midfielder with the flowing dreadlocks would seem a certainty to join any New Zealand A-League franchise should the current Wellington bid be approved by Soccer NZ.
