BRISBANE Roar player of the year Thomas Broich wouldn’t blame anyone if they chose to leave the club because a bigger and better offer was put on the table, but he isn't going anywhere.
The German midfielder won the Gary Wilkins Medal on Friday night after finishing second to Adelaide United import Marcos Flores for the Johnny Warren Medal.
Broich, who is heading back to Germany for a holiday, said it would be difficult to retain all of the championship-winning squad.
“Obviously the boys are now targets for other clubs. They deserve to be targeted,” he told the Courier Mail.
“I hope they stick around and value what we’re trying to build here, but you can’t blame anyone (for leaving).”
Boss Ange Postecoglou has already admitted it will be difficult to keep Jean Carlos Solorzano, while second-choice keeper Andrew Redmayne also needs to be re-signed.
The 30-year-old said he was here to enjoy his football but was looking forward to achieving even more next season.
“We’re about to build a dynasty,” Broich said.
“I like Ange’s approach of trying to become even better.
“It would be easy to say let’s see what’s possible next year. He’s already talking about how to get better. We had a good standard but we’re far from being a perfect team.”
Broich was delighted Postecoglou re-signed and says he has been crucial to their success.
