SYDNEY FC have seen their striking stocks further depleted with Alex Brosque ruled out of the clash against former club Brisbane Roar due to an ankle injury.
Brosque picked up the injury in training on Wednesday and will play no part at Suncorp Stadium.
"Football is sometimes like this. Alex had a problem last training session. He injured his ankle and will be unavailable for this week," coach Vitezslav Lavicka said.
"This is a real situation for us but we are staying positive. We have a problem with Mark Bridge and Alex in this moment but we believe they will be back soon.
"This is a good chance for young players to show their quality and I believe we will do well."
