SYDNEY FC striker Alex Brosque is confident his teammates can still make progress up the A-League ladder despite the news that Nick Carle is going to be sidelined for several weeks.
A foot injury - the player's third injury problem since joining the Sky Blues - means he will be sidelined for a spell.
"It's been a frustrating time for him and he was a bit down this week about it as well," Brosque told AAP.
"But he'll be alright, he'll pick himself up and when he comes back he'll still have a couple of months to get that right and join us for the run home.
"You don't want to lose a player of his quality but I think we've still got enough around the park to cover for that."
Brosque and his teammates have the chance to finally haul themselves off the bottom of the table this weekend when they entertain Newcastle Jets.
He added: "We've only won the one game and we're not too far out of the six."
