The Australian slid in at the back post to place the ball home to give S-Pulse the lead on 39 minutes.

The goal was Brosque's second for Shimizu since joining the club from Sydney FC in February.

Brosque was then involved in Shimizu's second when he chested down for Naohiro Takahara to volley home on 50 minutes.

Takahara swooped on a defensive error to make it 3-0 and defender Shinij Tsujio added a fourth before Rafael scored a late consolation.

Brosque and Australian defender Eddy Bosnar both played full games in the contest.

Elsewhere in Japan, Socceroos striker Joshua Kennedy was absent again as champions Nagoya Grampus drew 0-0 at home with Kashiwa Reysol on Saturday.
